ACORN: "Voter Frauds "R" Us"

Leave it to the liberal Democrats. ACORN is up to their usual practice of fraudulent voter registrations.
From Michelle Malkin:

Meanwhile in Detroit:

Several municipal clerks across the state are reporting fraudulent and duplicate voter registration applications, most of them from a nationwide community activist group working to help low- and moderate-income families.

The majority of the problem applications are coming from the group ACORN, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, which has a large voter registration program among its many social service programs. ACORN’s Michigan branch, based in Detroit, has enrolled 200,000 voters statewide in recent months, mostly with the use of paid, part-time employees.

“There appears to be a sizeable number of duplicate and fraudulent applications,” said Kelly Chesney, spokeswoman for the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office. “And it appears to be widespread.”

Big surprise there, right?  Aren't these the same people who had the audacity to say, "Bush stole the 2000 election?"  If that doesn't make for a good old fashioned belly laugh, then I don't know what does.
Not only are the Drive-Bys not talking about what ACORN is doing in Detroit, they aren't talking about this either:

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign paid more than $800,000 to an offshoot of the liberal Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now for services the Democrat’s campaign says it mistakenly misrepresented in federal reports.

An Obama spokesman said Federal Election Commission reports would be amended to show Citizens Services Inc. — a subsidiary of ACORN — worked in “get-out-the-vote” projects, instead of activities such as polling, advance work and staging major events as stated in FEC finance reports filed during the primary.

FEC spokeswoman Mary Brandenberger said it is not unusual for campaigns to amend reports, even regarding large sums of money.

But, said Blair Latoff, spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee: “Barack Obama’s failure to accurately report his campaign’s financial records is an incredibly suspicious situation that appears to be an attempt to hide his campaign’s interaction with a left-wing organization previously convicted of voter fraud. For a candidate who claims to be practicing ‘new’ politics, his FEC reports look an awful lot like the ‘old-style’ Chicago politics of yesterday.”

Oh, It gets even better.
Back to ACORN's shenanigans, this time in Cleveland:

A national organization that conducts voter registration drives for low-income people has curtailed its push in Cuyahoga County after the Board of Elections accused its workers of submitting fraudulent registration cards.

The board is investigating the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Results of the inquiry could be turned over to the county prosecutor.

Board employees said ACORN workers often handed in the same name on a number of voter registration cards, but showing that person living at different addresses. Other times, cards had the same name listed, but a different date of birth. Still another sign of possible fraud showed a number of people living at an address that turned out to be a restaurant.

“I’m obviously very concerned,” Board Chairman Jeff Hastings said. “This goes to the essence of our democracy.”

So much for liberal Democrat honesty.
Now, that is good for a laugh.

If they are so confident that he is the right man... then why the need for fraud? Why the need to "steel" an election?

Excellent comment. The left is not confident that Obama can win. They have begun setting up excuses that will turn into court challenges. They are challenging electronic voting machines. The same voting machines that were used without problem in 2006 and the primaries of 2008. Now ACORN is in full fraud mode. Conclusion, the left is reading the writing on the walls and resorting to their old standby's. Note to the left, bring it on.

The Governor of Kansas broke some news this morning that sheds some light on why the left is putting all efforts into this election. We at Rants and Other Refinements were shocked this morning to learn that Barack Obama is actually not white. Thankfully, the Governor of Kansas was able to give us the facts on the subject.
