General Eisenhower Knew

UPDATE: Claims the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum appear to be false according to the comment of a reader.  However, this piece from the timesonline maintains the opposite.  Who knows ...

This post is based on an email my Mom sent to me, it is worded exactly like this:

It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect:

'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'

This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred.  This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world an d how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, 1,900 Catholic priests who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way!

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people! Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center, "Never Happened," because it offends a Muslim in the U.S.?

You might want to take the time and read the entire Snopes entry. While it was untrue that the entire United Kingdom was eliminating the Holocaust from their history lessons, there was one history department in a northern UK school which did.

That’s one too many. Per the Snopes entry:

“One history department looked at by the fact-finders was found to have cut information about the Holocaust from its lessons due to worries that Muslim pupils might express anti-Semitic reactions.”

I think that qualifies as a bit more serious than “just another moronic internet rumor”. Sensationalized or not, the root of the problem is that academia has taken action to rewrite history specifically for the appeasement of Muslims. Whether it be one history department or the whole country, wrong is wrong. How long before more history departments follow suit? Further along in the Snopes entry:

“In another history department, the Holocaust was taught despite anti-Semitic sentiment among some pupils, but the same department deliberately avoided teaching the Crusades at Key Stage 3 because their balanced treatment of the topic would have directly challenged what was taught in some local mosques.”

This is nothing short of schools being strong-armed by Muslim dogma. I find it curious how insatiable the liberal thirst is for removing any and all ideologies Christian in nature, but liberals seem to have no problem with welcoming the Islamic Revisionist History with welcome and adoring arms. “Gee, look at how culturally diverse we are. Pat us on the backs.” Whatever.
