Entertaining Approval Numbers

The U.S. Congress approval ratings tie record lows.  It is especially amusing when you realize it took President Bush six years to reach a 24% approval rating, while Congress got to 18% in only 16 months.

Keep up the good work, Democrats.
Bwahahahaha!

One might consider this an indicator of a “miserable failure”, no?

Don't worry, TheBad. The liberals will blame Bush for the piss poor approval ratings of Congress.

Of course they will. Everything is the “miserable failure’s” fault. Some prime examples of the most ludicrous:

The “Recession”: CNN exit polling in WV asks two questions about “The Recession” – obviously Bush’s fault since he is the President. The problem with “Bush’s Recession”: it hasn’t happened. As I painfully had to explain to a moonbat on my site some time ago, a recession is two consecutive quarters with negative growth. So far, we haven’t experienced one yet. As I more recently pondered, I have yet to hear anyone ask either democrat running for President (both of which endorse a tax increase) the most important economic question: “When, in our history, has a tax increase ever helped the economy?” Moonbats – feel free to chime in on this if you like. Just one example, please. Should the democrats take the White House, retain Congress and raise taxes as promised, expect the economic fallout to also be Bush’s fault.

Global Warming Hoax: Nearly every time a democrat discusses our CO2 emissions, they also mention how mean-old Bush didn’t sign Kyoto. All Bush’s fault, regardless of the fact that the United States Senate voted unanimously (yes, some of the same people chastising Bush today voted) not to be signatory to Kyoto in 1997 – during the Clinton administration (S. Res. 98: Byrd-Hagel Resolution).

Petty Politics: Gotta love it when democrats accuse anyone of this. In 2005, then-Senator Jon Corzine went rushing to his adoring media to proclaim President Bush was, “injecting petty partisan politics” into the death of the Pope. This was because former President Jimmy Carter supposedly was not allowed to accompany Bush to the funeral. Corzine’s accusation was page one. Later on, on page 92 we find out that Carter was invited, but declined to attend.

Iraq: What can I say? When things weren’t going so well – all Bush’s fault (and on the news all the time). Now that the tide has turned – no credit to be issued (..and coming up next, Fritz with a new recipe for the whole family).

West Virginia Mine Collapse: Yep – Bush’s fault. His administration apparently “relaxed safety rules” – although that had nothing to do with the tragedy.

Tsunami: Bush’s unfriendly environmental policies apparently caused tectonic plates to move.

Hurricane Katrina: I think you get the point. Yet, I have one more – my favorite.

Everything That Is Wrong: On February 15, 2005, precisely 27 days after Bush was inaugurated to his second term, John Kerry proclaimed that the country would be “far better off” had he been elected. All that is wrong is Bush’s fault and apparently Herman Munster could have fixed it all in less than one month. Amazing!

I keep vacillating between Herman Munster and Lurch. Ah, the tough choices in life…
