I Nearly Forgot ....

Yeah, it's been over a week since this story broke, but I had other pressing issues going on.  Now that things have settled down, I can offer my comments on this.

The radio host Randi Rhodes has left Air America, the progressive radio outlet said Thursday, ending her national syndicated show and leaving the network with a three-hour hole in its afternoon schedule.

Ms. Rhodes, the host of the “The Randi Rhodes Show” will join KKGN, the Air America affiliate in San Francisco.

She was suspended by Air America a week ago after a video of her making disparaging remarks about the Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton surfaced on YouTube. Ms. Rhodes likened Mrs. Clinton to a prostitute at an event sponsored by KKGN on March 22.

The program director of KKGN, John Scott, said in an announcement on the station’s Web site that Ms. Rhodes would come on board on April 14.

In a statement, the chairman of Air America, Charlie Kireker, and the president Mark J. Green said Ms. Rhodes had chosen to leave.

Ms. Rhodes was the host from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for Air America, and the network did not immediately announced a successor.

“We will soon announce exciting new talent and programming that will accelerate Air America’s growth in the future,” Mr. Kireker and Mr. Green stated.

A Sunday host, Sam Seder, who previously led a morning show for the radio network, is under consideration, according to an Air America employee who asked not to be identified.

Ms. Rhodes joined Air America when the network began in 2004. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The company, which has struggled to gain distribution, is majority owned by the real estate investor Stephen L. Green and his brother Mark.

But don't get too tickled by this, folks. You can be rest assured that if the Democrats win back the White House, they'll also bring back the Fairness Doctrine, which is the liberal Democrat way of silencing conservative talk radio.  Why?  Because it doesn't take much to realize Air America Radio (like nearly all the other liberal talk radio markets) tanked.  Why?  No one wants to hear their Marxist rhetoric.

Before the Fairness Doctrine was abolished in 1987, there was no Rush Limbaugh Show, Sean Hannity Show, Fox News, Michael Savage, Neal Boortz, or Quinn & Rose (just to name a select few).  Hell, there wasn't an Air America Radio, either.  When the Fairness Doctrine was finally abolished, a plethora of alternative news sources came into existence and flourished.  That right there is why the liberal Democrats want to bring back the Fairness Doctrine.  It will do nothing more than silence the alternative news sources who offer opposing views to liberalism.

So much for the First Amendment, huh?  But then again, we already know the First Amendment only applies to liberal Democrats, not to those who don't agree with their political ideologies; so that's really nothing really new.  That's the liberal idea of "free speech."

There's the change the Democrats are offering America.  The change to the United Soviet Socialist States of America.
