Say Hello To The Sony ICF-7600DS

I was pleasantly surprised this morning (once again) to find my latest Sony shortwave radio "find" had arrived.  This time, I am pleased to present the Sony ICF-7600DS.  This model is the European version of the ICF-2003.  The radio itself is in near mint condition; heck, the radio even still has the "It's a Sony" sticker on it.  The packaging includes the instruction manual, Sony Wave Guide, real-type antenna, earphone, long-wire antenna connector, soft case, and AC power supply complete with European plug which is also supplied with a plug adaptor which will allow for use on a United States AC power outlet.  I took a photograph of the radio and it's shown below (click to enlarge):

Specifications:

- Continuous tuning from 150 KHz through 29,995 KHz
- Decodes SSB
- 10 programmable memory presets for instant access
- Sleep timer (60 minutes)
- Standby timer (to turn the radio on automatically at a preset time)
- Fine tuning knob
- Local/DX switch

Performance is pretty much the same as the ICF-2002, which is pretty good considering the age/technology at the time of manufacture.

I've always been attracted to this particular model, perhaps the reason is because my Dad has this exact radio, which he received during Christmas 1985.  He still has it, and the radio still looks mint and functions just fine.  Sony made some damn good shortwave radio receivers back in the day, and the ICF-7600DS is definitely no exception to the rule. I am quite pleased with this latest addition to my Sony shortwave radio collection.

I have the ICF-2003 model of the radio. I am looking for a copy of the instruction manual. Do you have one that you could copy for or e-mail to me?

The ICF-2003 is essentially the same radio, the ICF-7600DS is the European model. I can scan it for you and email in PDF if you like.
