New Radio

I managed to snag a brand new Sony ICF-SW7600GR World Band radio on eBay today. Here's a shot of what the radio looks like:

Sony is ceasing production on these radios and current stock is swiftly dwindling. I was very pleasantly surprised to see this brand new radio listed with several sellers via eBay.  I cannot wait until this radio arrives. I cannot wait until Summer arrives so that I can take this radio outside, string out my long-wire antenna, and start DX'ing under a Summer evening sky with a good beer and cigar at my side.

So tell us more about it!

What bands, does it receive CW and SSB easily? How much memory for freqs? Learning curve?

Coverage is 150-30,000 KHz continuous. It receives CW and SSB, and also has Sony's famous "Synchronous Detection" which was rolled out with the ICF-2010 model (which I also have, by the way).

I believe this model offers up to 100 memory presets. As for the learning curve, I am sure it will be quite small with a receiver of this caliber.

No, this radio isn't a Sony ICF-2010, but in terms of size, it does what it does quite well according to the reviews.

I cannot wait until it arrives.

I'll have a thorough review of it once I can really get into DX'ing during the warm days of Summer.
