Friday's Feast #134

It's a very early Friday morning, and I cannot sleep.  Waking up with a temperature of 102 sort of makes trying to sleep a bit uncomfortable.  Needless to say, I thought I'd take this opportunity to present this week's Friday's Feast:

Appetizer
What is your usual bedtime? Do you like that, or would you rather it be different?

My bedtime should be around 10:00 PM.  I rarely follow that schedule, although yesterday I went to bed at 8:30 PM because I didn't feel good.  And now, here I am up at 3:05 AM.

Soup
When it comes to advice, do you give more or receive more?

I tend to receive.  I always like to hear how other people would handle any given situation.

Salad
Describe a memorable meal you've had.

My Mom's chicken and leeks all cooked in a wok and finished off with a light mustard sauce.  Oh man.  I long for that!  And her spaghetti and meatballs, I cannot let that go unmentioned, either.  No matter how hard I try, I cannot duplicate the same flavor of my Mom's spaghetti sauce.

Main Course
Name a work of fiction that affected the way you think about something.

Stephen King's "It."  I love that book, although I feel it's a bit too lengthy at times.  For some reason, that book inspired me to write a small collection of short stories in the early 1990s.  I wrote them all on an an Atari 130XE, printed them out, and managed to lose them all a few years later. Bummer.

Dessert

What is your favorite type of fruit juice?

Orange.  With lots of pulp.   I prefer the "Simply Orange" brand.

I'm a night owl? :) Until recently, Nancy's bedtime was 5:30 a.m. One day, she just stayed up all day, got back on my schedule.

Sorry to hear about the fever, hope you feel better soon. I hear the same thing from my bunch when they try to replicate my cooking. Which I also experienced with my grandmother, even though learned how to cook from her it took me years to get as close as I could for things like her fudge.

Thanks for visiting me and again, I hope you feel better very soon.

:-)
