Great Gaming Of The Past

The other day, I took delight in firing up Atari800WinPlus, the best Atari 8-bit computer emulator (no longer in active development, I'm sorry to say), and played the old game, Boulderdash for a while.  This game brings back so many damn good memories I have with my Dad as we'd play this game for hours on end when I was a kid.

As I reminisced, I took a handful of screenshots.  Check 'em out (Click to enlarge):

Ahhhh.  Those were the days.  I still remember them like yesterday.  I can still remember my Dad taking the time to figure out the more difficult mazes, to this day I still kiddingly take credit for.  :-)

Not familiar with the game.

I don't remember the Atari computer. I've still got two Atari gaming consoles in my garage.

I think the older games of the past are still the best. Graphically, they cannot compare to the state of the art games of today, but still, there's something to be said for the older games where game play and strategy is paramount over graphical eye candy.
