I finally went ahead and purchased the 10-part HBO mini-series, Band Of Brothers, which was co-produced by Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan), and Tom Hanks. This mini-series shows the experiences of Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, United States 101st Airborne Division with Richard Winters being one if it's early platoon leaders.
I've watched the first two DVD discs today, each containing two episodes. I admit that after watching the first four episodes of this mini-series, I have an even greater respect for those brave men who fought for our country during World War II. What those men went through for their country is literally indescribable.
Once I finish watching this mini-series, I've give my full impression/review of it; although from what I watched today, I most likely will give it a five out of five stars. So far, it's incredible. I-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e.
I feel a great amount of sadness due to the fact that this country lacks much of the same mentality that it had back during the time of World War II. I am sad for those men who fought in World War II because I feel as if everything those men fought for is gradually being thrown away as illustrated by the current political situation in this country.
If you have not had the experience of watching Band Of Brothers, then do yourself a favor and do so.
You won't regret it.
